1. How many lines of cabinets do you carry? We have several manufacturers, including Schrock, Diamond, Kemper, Yorktowne, and more. We know customers like more then one choice. We think you will be happy having the ability to fine tune just what your looking for. 2. How long does it take to do a kitchen, and what is a normal wait time?Obviously each job is different. Perhaps as quick as one week to several months. The faster you make decisions the quicker it gets done. Most of our manufacturers deliver within 3 weeks. And that’s made to order. Custom cabinets generally take 6 to 12 weeks. 3. Does Cabinets DIRECT do installations?Only for custom cabinets. We generally will not do installs for semi custom or stock cabinetry. We will give you a list of highly qualified contractors who have installed kitchens and baths for our past customers. We leave the choosing up to you. 4. How much does a kitchen cost?Tough question. The average kitchen (cabinets only) from Cabinets DIRECT ranges from $2900 to $8300. The average small kitchen should cost (for labor), between $50 and $125 dollars per square foot. 5. Why should I pay a design retainer to you when others will design my kitchen for free?Needless to say, this is always your option. However, it is simple logic that if 20 to 30 clients want a room designed, we will be unable to give each of those jobs the dedicated time, talent and care required to create a plan that meets our level of standards or your expectations. Many, many hours are invested laboring over each of our plans assuring you a look and function that will satisfy your wishes. The payment of a retainer assures you priority service. In addition, the entire amount that you pay for such services is credited back to your account when you purchase kitchen cabinetry for your home from Cabinets DIRECT (a minimum purchase is required). 6. How far from your showroom do you work? We have sold and installed cabinets as far away as San Diego, California. We can work almost anywhere that shipping is available from our suppliers. 7. Will you design a kitchen for me that my builder or contractor wants to install? Sure. All we ask is that your installer confer with us as to placement of cabinets, etc. If we design it we certainly want it installed correctly. 8. Why is it your cabinets seem to cost so much less then other dealers?Believe it or not we make our money based on volume. Plus we see no reason to charge above a fair and decent margin. We want everyone to enjoy a new kitchen. We get the greatest degree of satisfaction after seeing one of our kitchens installed. We are firm believers in the motto, offer a decent product for a fair price and you’ll always be busy. It’s true and it works. 9. I’ve seen semi-custom kitchens that are absolutely beautiful why are comparably sized custom kitchens so much more? The short answer is it takes a lot longer to make a custom kitchen. The, long answer is the 3 inch rule. Most cabinet companies build everything using the 3 inch rule. In other words they start at 6 inches and build their cabinets in 3 inch increments. This saves a tremendous amount of time and money and its passed on to you. Production building also saves a lot of money. You can get one person to finish 100 doors in a day in a factory or one person finishing 10 doors in a day in a custom shop. Both equally good yet the custom shop is 90 doors behind. You get the picture. 10. We are always asked, What’s the difference between your store and prices in the mega home center stores? The main difference is SERVICE and attention to detail. Approximately 90% of our new customers have been to the Big home centers. If personal service, a quiet relaxed atmosphere and the fact that a sincere professional is waiting on you means anything, then you certainly belong in a small dealership. As far as prices are concerned, we have and will always meet or beat the competition for the same items. We are unmatched when it comes to customer service. 11. Just what do I need to bring to get the process started? All
we need is a simple drawing of the room. Let us know wall size, window
sizes, door sizes, distance between doors, walls and windows etc. Also,
put together a wish list of things you would like in your kitchen, i.e.
trash bins, utensil trays, glass doors, etc.
It is good, and it is true. The catch is that you actually have to come in and see for yourself. There really is a way to put together a new kitchen or bath and not have to go broke in the process. 13. I don't really have time to get to your showroom, isn't there some way you can help me get a kitchen designed? YES. Cabinets DIRECT has the technology and the ability to design with you online. All you need is a reasonably fast Internet connection and we can together, while your online watching our screen, design your kitchen. Amazing yet true. Call us for details or to set up an appointment. |
